A little update...

This past week has been kind of a roller coaster with some things going on so it is always nice to be able to it at my machine and get some things stitched up. (So much easier when I don't feel the room is spinning)

I stitched up a tote bag for Hopeful Threads January project.  It is reversible and basically similar to my 10 minute tote I usually make except I added a pocket.

I am going to try and make at least one more tote to send out.  This goes along with my new years resolution of making at least one item to donate every month this year.

I have been working on my Starburst quilt a long also that Melissa at Happy Quilting is hosting.  This week's blocks were goose in the corner and half square triangles.  I finished mine up yesterday, all pressed and ready to go.

Mom is still working on hers.  She has sewn and pressed some half square triangles and asked me to square them up for her.  So I will be working on that later.  Although it seems to be more work, I am really enjoying working on this with her. (at least for now, haha)

Starburst Quilt Along

I recently joined the Starburst Quilt Along over with Melissa at Happy Quilting.

I pulled my fabrics last week.
This week's assignment was cutting so I cut... and cut... and cut.
Then mom asked what I was doing and decided to join in, too.  Lucky her, not only did she pull the fabrics from my stash, but she also let me do all her cutting for her.  I see this being more work for me than it will be for her, haha.

Head over and see what everyone has chosen to use.  I can't wait to see how different they will all be.

Some log cabins

So I spent today working on some of my monochromatic scrappy log cabin blocks to go with the scrappy stash quilt along at Ellison Lane Quilts. So far I have 8 blocks, 4 green and 4 purple.

Love how they are looking. I am excited to see how everyones blocks turn out
