I have an obsession with little tiny squares and have used them in all different projects like my Tetris Quilt.
Or the baby quilt I made for an amazing friend's little girl...
So I have decided to give away 50 2.5" assorted charm squares to share in my love of those tiny squares with someone else.
In order to enter my little giveaway I have a question for you to answer...
Do you like to sew with batiks? If you don't, why not?
I would love it if you became a follower, but it is not required to win.
Thanks for entering! I will ship internationally. Just make sure I can contact you. I will close comments and pick a winner on Friday, Dec 7 at 5pm.
Thanks for stopping by!

Oh no---the dreaded first spot! LOL I love little squares also! Your quilts look great! I am not super crazy about batiks--only because they aren't my style. I have seen amazing work done with them. If I was making something for someone else,I might use them.
ReplyDeleteGreat giveaway! I love batiks - the wide range of colors/patterns and how wonderfully they handle while sewing.
ReplyDeleteI love tiny squares too! I prefer working with small pieces. I don't really like batiks because the boundaries between colors are not sharp and I like sharp bold contrasts. I am not opposed to using them if someone requests batiks for a project.
ReplyDeleteI love the squares! So far, they are all I have been working with. As of now, I have only been able to sew with cottons, so I haven't tried sewing with batiks yet! Maybe one day! :)
ReplyDeleteI don't have a lot of batiks, but I do have some. For whatever reason I expect them to blend since they're all batiks, but they don't seem to unless they are from similar lines. Maybe I should try cutting them up in smaller pieces!
ReplyDeleteI have been gathering batiks when I find some I like, but I haven't sewing with them yet! Don't have enough to make a quilt yet. I too love to sew with 2.5 in squares. I have a pixelated horse quilt planned out that uses that size. Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI sew with some batiks in my scrappier projects but I haven't ever made a batik quilt.
ReplyDeleteI have never sewn with batiks before but like the look of them.

I love batiks. I have a friend with a boho flair, and whenever I make gifts for her or her kids, I go with batiks.
ReplyDeletelimor477 at aol dot com
I have done some sewing with batiks, and I think they can be beautiful, but they are not my style, so I only use them if I am making something for somebody else who I think would like them. I am planning a postage stamp quilt, so these little squares would be an awesome win!
ReplyDeleteSometimes. They really have to work with the theme
ReplyDeleteI do use lots of batiks. And I do many many miniature quilts so these little squares would be put to good use! Really like your quilts!
ReplyDeleteI love the look of batiks, but I don't use them much since I'm a hand quilter and they are so hard to stitch through. I do use lots of small squares, down to 1.5" squares, so this prize is right up my alley!
ReplyDeleteI've never sewn with batiks. I like the look of them, but I am worried the dye might run, which is silly since I wash all fabric with Shout color catcher sheets before I use it. But that's my irrational reason why!
ReplyDeleteI have never sewn with batiks. Don't know why, but I haven't.
ReplyDeleteI have never sewn with them yet. I love the look of them.
ReplyDeleteI have used them a few times, but only for little embellishments :)
ReplyDeleteI'm not really drawn to batiks but I did see a really vibrant friendship braid quilt that I'd like to try with them. I love the 2.5 squares so this giveaway is perfect. I did become a follower.
ReplyDeleteI've bought a batik, but I don't think I ever used it. I think I just get distracted by all the pretty prints available. Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteOh, what a funny question! Don't you think batiks are like line you can't cross over? I hate them personally, but I can't articulate why. When I first started quilting I bought some. But then all of a sudden I moved into a different quilting aesthetic and have shunned them evermore. My tastes were definitely shaped by blogs I read when I first started out. I've seen them in stunning quilts and admire some of the more "artsy" quilts made with them, but no, I do not sew with them. Looks like you have a lot of fun hobbies!
ReplyDeleteps. You don't need to enter me in...I just wanted to share my two cents! I do like the 30's prints though:)
ReplyDeleteI don't sew with them, because they aren't usually my style. I've seen some beautiful ones that I would love to sew with though!
ReplyDeleteI am obsessed with 2.5-inch quares. It is the one measurement I can spot in an instant! I don't buy batiks individually, but I am happy to use them when they come my way in a scrap pack or other mysterious way. The mottled nature of batiks - which gives them their beauty - seems to make me a little unsure of how to use them on a large scale. Thanks for the chance to win!
ReplyDeleteI haven't tried sewing with batiks but might have to soon!
ReplyDeleteI do like batiks, they blend well and often have some of the best vibrant blues. (Plus, I don't have to worry which side is right!)
ReplyDeleteI have not sewed with batik but I want to try. I have a handmade night gown given to me by my MIL and it's batik. The print is nice so I'd work with it in the future~
ReplyDeleteIn general, I don't choose batiks! I do love little squares though!!
ReplyDeleteI haven't had much experience with batiks (yet). I think there may be a few mixed into my postage stamp quilt and I enjoy them.
ReplyDelete(I love this giveaway--I'm all about the postage stamp scrappy quilt I'm making right now so a pack of 2.5 inchers is right up my alley!)
Batiks are not my favorites. I don't mind the ones that have a motif that can be seen like flowers or butterflies. Many times I find their colors hard to match.
ReplyDeleteI've never sewn with batiks so I don't know!
ReplyDeleteI have some batiks that yet to sew into a bag...
ReplyDeleteI have never used batiks before. Thanks for hosting this giveaway!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway! I used batiks to make my first quilt earlier this year. I have the Eat Your Fruit and Veggies (by Pat Sloan) regular charm pack and the batik charm pack and am waiting for the perfect design to present itself to make a lap quilt for myself. I think batiks can be a little challenging though because they are not quite solid and not quite a print, so they confuse me a little about how to work with them. wonderlandbyalyce(at)gmail(dot)com
ReplyDeleteMy very first quilt was made using batiks. I love them.
ReplyDeleteI have never sewn with batiks. I do mostly sewing for my children, so it is mostly little kid prints I work with!

I love sewing with Batiks- especially when paired with a single solid like white, charcoal, or black.
ReplyDeletei love batiks. the color, the unique patterns, and the feel of the fabric, they're all good!
ReplyDeleteI don't know if they quality of batik fabrics varies, but I purchased a batik recently for an apron and was disappointed with the severe wrinkling.
ReplyDeletecynsaw2(at)yahoo(dot)ca
I do like to sew with batiks.
ReplyDeleteI don't usually sew with batiks. This is horrible but I think most of them are kinda ugly. I do have a few batik remnants in my stash that I'm going to use to make grocery bags.
ReplyDeleteI don't like batiks - sitting on the bolt, they've never really appealed to me... But I think I need to put my big girl pants on and give it a go!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE batiks. The colors suck me in!
ReplyDeleteI only like batiks if I'm doing an applique picture - then I find some of the colours are just right.
ReplyDeleteI don't like batiks, but I am obsessed with 2.5 in squares - I think I have 2 or 3 scrap projects using them right now
ReplyDeleteI have never used batiks. Thanks for the giveaway! amy @ gasudimack(at)sbcglobal(dot)net
ReplyDeleteI love to use them as linings in pouches, contrasts on aprons etc. I don't use them a lot as the main fabric, although i'm not sure why. I love them !

ReplyDeleteI haven't sewn with batiks, so I don't know.

I love, love, love batiks. The colors are just so rich.
ReplyDeleteI used batiks for the border of my first quilt - I really love the colours!
ReplyDeleteI am not at all a fan of batiks. I think they tend to date a project & aren't very modern. (not enough contrast in the print)
ReplyDeleteI don't really use batiks...although I have some. I guess I don't feel like they fit in with other prints that I use but I'm not interested in doing a whole project with batiks.
ReplyDeleteI just started collecting 2.5" squares for a quilt! They're so much fun!
ReplyDeleteI haven't really used batiks, but they sure are pretty!
I don't like batiks, they look muddy to me!
ReplyDeleteI adore batiks (it's in my heritage), but I have trouble mixing them with other fabrics. Just find them hard to match and complement for some reason, so if I use them it is usually on their own for a small project.
ReplyDeletei do love batiks.
ReplyDeleteI haven't yet but I want to give it a try.
ReplyDeleteI have used batiks, but more in a quilt that was a scene. Like a applique and I needed a piece for some sky or leaves. That's my experience with using them. But I have seen some beautiful ones. Some of the Asian ones I have seen of dragons I would love to do for my son.
ReplyDeleteI haven't used batiks because I grew up thinking they were only for quilts. I don't know where I got that notion! I love looking through that section at the fabric store, so maybe I should get some next time. I think they would make a very fun dress for a little girl.
ReplyDeleteI love working with batiks. The different shades are wonderful in the one piece of fabric.
ReplyDeleteI am more drawn to intricate or whimsical patterns than batiks.
ReplyDeleteOh, yes--I think batiks are great. I've been making table runners with them and i love their stiffness and rich colors.
ReplyDeleteI love the varied colors in batiks, their so pretty.
ReplyDeleteWoo! Thanks for the giveaway! I haven't used batiks yet because I enjoy really distinct color patterns better. But I don't have anything *against* them. :)
ReplyDeleteI love batiks, both to use them in projects and to just look at them, they are SO beautiful. however, I wouldn't use them in tiny little bits, I think they are best in bigger parts where you can see the color play.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway!
I love batiks. I have sewn scrub tops with batiks and am always complimented on how pretty the fabric is.

As a fairly newbie sew-er, I haven't used Batiks yet. I'm only starting my very first quilt
ReplyDeleteI haven't used many batiks because I like brighter "defined" prints because I make a lot of baby quilts. I love your Tetris quilt!
ReplyDeleteI love batiks!! They're so pretty.
ReplyDeleteI'm not particularly fond of the way batiks look, but if I was creating something for someone else I might try them out.
ReplyDeleteI did the tetris quilt a long too, only my squares were a bit bigger! I love batiks, all the shading catches the eye and the fabric always looks different. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteI do like to sew with batiks. I don't always mix them with anything other than solids, though.
ReplyDeleteI do love to sew with Batiks. They are great blenders!
ReplyDeleteThat baby quilt is fantastic. I love batiks a lot I have made one quilt top and a lap quilt with them. Would love to do many more.
ReplyDeleteI am a follower
ReplyDeleteI like Blenders!

I have never sewn with Batiks but I think they are very beautiful. I always look at them in the shops but have never bought any....don't really know why. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteanglanouette(at)gmail(dot)com
Mmm I don't really like Batiks, I can see how it's a very elaborate art form it's just not my style. My 6 year old daughter loves them though...
ReplyDeleteMmm. I have never really sewed with batiks before . They seem to be very pricey and I am on a rather strict budget. But some of them are very beautiful for sure.
ReplyDeleteconn_and_vans_mom@yahoo.com
Batiks, cottons, denim, silks, wool, felts, knits...if its fabric...I sew!:)
ReplyDeleteI LOVE Batiks the various colors are so captivating!!!

I like Batiks in small blocks but I prefer prints or solids for larger blocks or projects that will have large pieces
ReplyDeleteI haven't done much with batiks, but I did use some in a fall patchwork pumpkin tablerunner I made recently. They are really unique and can be used to much advantage in a design! Thanks for the giveaway. Your squares are so colorful! :)
ReplyDeleteI love batiks - they are a nice version of basics with subtle patterns
ReplyDeleteI recently made a table runner with batiks, my first time using them. I enjoyed the project and will work with them again.
ReplyDeleteI love batiks. They make great pieces for applique because of subtle shading.
ReplyDeleteThanks,
jb
I love the color variations in batiks!
ReplyDeleteI love batiks and the color variations but am always worried about them bleeding.
ReplyDeleteI love to work with batiks, but I don't very often, as I don't have a great deal of them in my stash, and they can be quite expensive :)
ReplyDeleteI like to mix batiks with solids.
ReplyDeleteYay! I have a Tetris Quilt too. That QAl was pretty fun! I do not sew with batiks. I consider myself a modern quilter and like bold, bright, colorful fabric and prints. I have nothing against batiks, they just are not my style. Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI don't use a whole lot of batiks, but sometimes they are the perfect fabric.
ReplyDeleteI like batiks. Thanks for chance to win.
ReplyDeleteI'm not into batiks right now. I may be later in life.
ReplyDeleteI love using batiks! :) Thanks for such an awesome giveaway! Happy Holidays to You! :)
ReplyDeleteNo, I am not a fan of batiks. I like patterns better, but sometimes batiks match better when needed. Thank you for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI love working with batiks. Love the looks & the feel. Thanks for the lovely giveaway
ReplyDeleteI love the look of batiks but I haven't used many in my sewing. Thanks for the chance to win!
ReplyDeleteI love batiks. Beautiful patterns and no wrong side!
ReplyDeleteI am a boho kind of person and just love batiks - have some great ombre batik that I'm making a quilt out for my son.
ReplyDeleteI haven't tried batiks, but I'd love a chance to take a stab at them. Thanks for such a generous giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI love batiks! I don't have to worry about which way is front or back. :)
ReplyDeleteI never have before, but I'd love to!
ReplyDeletepeachstateme at hotmail dot com
I don't sew with batiks, but there's no good reason why! Thanks for the chance!
ReplyDeleteI love batiks ... a perfect alternative to solids!
ReplyDeleteI love to wear batiks, but I haven't sewed with any yet. I am not opposed to it though.
ReplyDeleteI am new to sewing and have never used batiks. I look forward to learning.
ReplyDeleteI think Batiks are beautiful! Some people say they're not "modern" but I think they're fabulous!
ReplyDeleteI rarely sew with batiks but I do have them. Some of them are so gorgeous. i think just most of the patterns I've seen for them are decidedly not my thing. I think it'd be fun to do some sort of Batik Chic quilt along where people use batiks in modern ways.
ReplyDeletei have never sewn with them, well, except for a pillow once.
